Special Delivery

I don't care how lame I sound, I was so excited that I caught the UPS man today and got my new stapler and tape dispenser from Poppin. Their branding is amazing, even their packing supplies are adorable!

Cute Office Supplies

I love nothing more than an everyday item with a smart design. I have been searching for a stapler worthy of a spot on my desk and I finally found one at Poppin. I also sprung for the matching tape dispenser. I thought the red would look great next to my powder blue typewriter.

In My Bedroom Studio

After what seemed like forever, I've finally found the inspiration to create again. Likely, this is due to warmer weather and more energy on my part. I started hand-typing fabric tags to accompany my products.

Edison Bulbs

I forgot to include a photo of Edison bulbs in my last post. I know they aren't exactly eco-friendly, but they are an integral part of my dream room.

I recently stumbled across Kara Ginther's custom saddle carving. This fair-isle design is just about the loveliest thing I have ever seen. I can't afford it, but a lady can dream...

Misread

Misread

I made this film for my Database as Narrative course last quarter. It was made to be a k-film, where you view each scene in semi-random sequence. Unfortunately, the film was skipping when viewed on the internet in the k-film interface. So, I made a linear version to share.

Don't cross my path

I finally found a frame for my first cross stitch project. It could have been a cute valentine's day gift, if I had a love interest. Wah Wah.

New Year, New Obsessions

Here are a few of my current obsessions:

This is just about the best idea for a blog ever. I particularly enjoy the pie charts which illustrate the factors that make these historical dudes so bangable. I hope to read much more of this in 2011.

Cashew / nut variations at London Bridge market, Borough, London UK

I had an amazing cashew chowder at The Inn Season Cafe over the holidays. Ever since, I've been experimenting with cashews in my cooking. I intend to try this corn and cashew chowder recipe over the weekend. I'm not a huge fan of cold soups, so I'll probably cook mine.

Each year I make some sort of new years resolution, usually to stop biting my nails, that I don't keep. This year is all about renewal for me and my resolutions are a bit more ambitious. The one change I'm sure I'll succeed in is having long luxurious 1960's hair à la Jean Shrimpton. I've ditched the bleach and am attempting to discover my natural color.

My winter soundtrack has been Connie Converse. Her music was so pretty and melancholy. Plus, she disappeared in the mid-seventies, which makes her an eerie figure.
